KE0274 PEFA Mfangano Child Development Centre is a Compassion International partnership program located at Sena Centre, Suba West Sub-County, Homa Bay County. We provide holistic child development addressing spiritual, physical, socio-economic, and cognitive needs from pregnancy through young adulthood.
Children and youth from vulnerable households within our catchment area (Mfangano Island and surrounding communities) are eligible for enrollment. Priority is given to orphans, vulnerable children, and those facing extreme poverty, illness, or educational barriers.
Please bring the following to our registration office:
  • Child's birth certificate or baptismal record
  • Parent/Guardian national ID copy
  • Recent passport-size photo of the child
  • Proof of residence within the catchment area
No. Our programs are fully funded through Compassion International partnerships and sponsor donations. Registration, participation, and all core program activities are completely free for eligible children and families.
We provide supplementary academic support alongside regular school attendance, including:
  • Homework assistance & exam preparation (KCPE/KCSE)
  • Literacy & numeracy remediation
  • Digital skills & computer literacy
  • Vocational training & life skills workshops
Regular sessions run every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. During school holidays, we offer intensive daily programs (Monday–Friday) to maximize learning opportunities and provide safe, structured environments for youth.
Sponsorship can be arranged through Compassion International's official website. Each sponsor is matched with one child, providing consistent support for education, healthcare, nutrition, and spiritual mentorship. Monthly contributions directly impact the child's development journey.
Absolutely! We welcome skilled volunteers (teachers, mentors, healthcare workers) and material donations (books, stationery, sports equipment, computers). Please contact our volunteer coordinator to discuss current needs, background checks, and placement opportunities.
